Batavia Remembers 9/11 - Beautiful & Surreal

Our lovely town of Batavia chose to memorialize those lost during the attacks of 9/11 by placing one luminary for every victim (over 3,000) along our Riverwalk. The view was amazing and so surreal to see so many luminaries and know that they each stood for a life lost. While this resembled a tragedy, it was also a beautiful way to represent the lives of these people in contrast to the horror we'd been reliving in the news all week. Here are a few shots from the night:

The Big Bad Blizzard in Batavia

Last night, my hubby and I went out for a walk around the Batavia Riverwalk. A good majority of it was plowed, but once it got to the boardwalk (which they can't plow) we were literally walking in someone else's footsteps, with our dog hopping from one to another. It was beautiful and quite, and while it got pretty chilly towards the end, it was a nice relaxing walk :)
